On Freud
The father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud developed or popularized almost all of the core notions that comprise what the average person thinks of as "psychology." He's responsible not only for the ideas of sexual repression and the sexual nature of neuroses, but for the professional approach to dream analysis, the idea of the ego (and id and super-ego), and most importantly, for talk therapy.

I have read a great deal of Sigmund Freud's studies throughout the course of my life and various courses that I have been involved with, yet I am still not sure why so many of his theories are based around sexuality. I am not so sure that I agree with the basis for many of his principles, although the research and development that he did in the venue of talk therapy has grown and helped a number of people throughout the years. Do you think that his theories still ring true today?
